Freedom Academy is a K-12, non-campus-based private school – what is sometimes called an umbrella school. We are homeschoolers ourselves, and we exist to facilitate your freedom to choose the homeschooling path.
Since 2001, we have helped families achieve educational freedom. We believe families have the right to make their own educational decisions, and so we offer those enrolled with us freedom and flexibility. Through encouraging child-led home education, we seek to inspire free thought and critical thinking.
The purpose of Freedom Academy is to cultivate persistence that will lead to success for yourself and your children. We believe education never stops, and that the world is your child's open classroom. Lessons and learning can take place anywhere and at any time. Your child is always learning and taking in the world around him. The Open Classroom concept was popularized in the 1960s and 1970s; the idea that children learn best from experiencing their world firsthand.
At Freedom Academy, we believe each family knows the educational approach that is best for their children. Some may choose a thoroughly structured curriculum, while other families may decide upon an unschooling approach. We are here to support and encourage your family to find what is best for you, and provide you with the enrollment, progress reports, consultations, transcripts, and diplomas to track your educational progress.
We are your private school. This means you enjoy your privilege to educate your children at home, while also enjoying private school status. You will have complete control over what your child learns, the curriculum you choose (or don’t!), and, of course, the freedom to teach your child at home.
We offer annual and year-round enrollment, which includes progress reports and end-of-year reports in addition to student I.D.s. For additional fees, we offer transcripts and diplomas. We are an independent, alternative private school for homeschoolers and people seeking their high school diploma. We offer enrollment in an independent private school as a way to comply to educational standards and keep a record of your education.
